Fertilize at the right moment. Fertilizer improves the health of plants and grass, but too much application can scorch the grass and encourage the growth of weeds. Only use fertilizer once or twice a year. The grass type you have and the findings from the soil test will determine when to apply, which one to apply, and how much to apply.
